    Compression Levels

Compression garments are made in a variety of support levels, each designed to address different needs. These levels are most commonly expressed in millimeters of mercury (abbreviated as mmHg). Generally, graduated compression is displayed in ranges. The higher the numerical value, the stronger the support level indicated. For example, a 20-30 mmHg garment will offer more support and feel tighter than a 15-20 mmHg garment.

All VIM & VIGR legwear is offered in a 15-20 mmHg compression level and select styles are available in 20-30 mmHg.

    15-20 MMHG

    Support Level: Moderate

Ideal for all-day, every day wear. Offers moderate support to reduce ankle and leg swelling, ease tired and achy legs, and aid in muscle recovery.
Commonly used for travel, mild to moderate edema, pregnancy, spider and varicose veins.

    20-30 MMHG

    Support Level: Moderate to Firm

20-30 mmHg is a medical grade compression level and often comes as a prescription or recommendation by a healthcare provider. Please consult with your healthcare provider before choosing this level of support.
Commonly used for moderate edema, lymphedema, Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), pre and post-surgical applications, moderate spider and varicose veins.

    30-40 MMHG

    Support Level: Firm

30-40 mmHg is a prescription compression level and is often prescribed by a doctor for treating health conditions such as venous insufficiency, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and lymphedema. Please consult with your healthcare provider before choosing this level of support.

    Merino wool is not hot!

I LOVE merino wool for hiking, so when I saw that there were compression socks made of merino well, I had to have some. I will use these for hiking but I also just wear them around the house. A lot of people think "wool" means it's going to be hot and itchy, but it's the opposite. The best thing is that merino wool doesn't hold scent and keeps your feet either cool or hot depending on the weather, so even if my feet are sweaty in this 90+ degrees weather, I can swing wearing these because they keep my feet cool and also they don't stink. I want another pair!!

Could I love these more? No, I could not.

I could tell from the picture I was going to love these socks. And then when they arrived, I was even more amazed. The merino wool is so soft, with just the right amount of stretch. I have a very muscular, athletic mountain, mama calve, so I got a medium compression for wide calve. Sometimes I have issues with wool. I have zero issues with these socks. I've worn them fashionably to work, I've worn them mountain biking, I've worn them hiking, and gardening. I love these socks.

    I didn’t know!

I didn’t know compression socks were for everyday use as well. I love the slight hug on my feet up to my legs. I am a shoe size 10, got a Med wide calf sock. Quite comfortable and stylish!

    Excellent Fit

These socks are very comfortable and supportive at the same time. The colors are great too, beautiful socks. I am tall and the 5th star is for length, they are long enough!

    Magic Socks!

I've been wearing Vim & Vigr compression socks for a few years, but didn't know they were available in Merino wool. These feel more comfortable for me than nylon and I prefer wearing a natural fabric. Merino wool keeps me warmer and are easier to put on & take off because they're not as tight as nylon. Keeping my feet warm is important to me because I have Raynaud's syndrome.
