Meet Our Models: Spring Summer 2020

Spring Models VIM & VIGR compression socks

Each season we capture VIM & VIGR socks in everyday settings during a multi-day lifestyle photo shoot. We've had the privilege of working with some pretty amazing individuals over the years to showcase our socks. Today, you get to meet them!

It's important to us that VIM & VIGR models reflect our customers– real humans from a variety of walks of life who like wearing fun, energizing socks. We're pleased to introduce you to the incredible humans, aka Amazing Sock Models, that made our Spring Summer Collection look so good.

Carla and Stu VIM & VIGR Sock Models

Carla and Stuart

Hometown: Missoula, MT

Our passion is family– especially our 2 young grand children who we visit in Bozeman frequently. We are avid downhill skiers, hikers and mountain bikers. We also love to dance anywhere, even in our kitchen!

We've recently retired (sort of) from owning & growing a retail business, and building a career in marketing & sales (with over 25 years in radio broadcasting, which is how we met). We've been married 35 years.

Stuart plays golf and tennis. I (Carla) am an avid reader, enjoy fashion and working on our 122 year old home downtown Missoula. We love living in an urban core where we can walk everywhere like bars, restaurants, brew pubs, live music, movies and museums. We also love to travel and camp in our converted van.

These socks were much more stylish and colorful than imagined...truly fun to wear! Great feel on your ankles and calves. We never fly without them and have given several pair as gifts for friends and family.

What does everyday wellness look like to you?

Our philosophy is everything in moderation! We use the 80/20 rule...be good 80% of the time and allow yourself to indulge 20% of the time, rather than restricting the things you love. We both use personal trainers to keep our bodies and bones strong. We want to keep up with our grandkids!

Reflections on Being a Sock Model:

Who didn’t grow up wanting to be a model? Since the age of 12, I have spent hours reading fashion magazines (and before that the Sears and Penny’s catalogs). So to finally be a model at 65 is a dream come true! Especially with my fabulous husband!

Shelby, VIM & VIGR Sock Model

Shelby

Hometown: Missoula, MT

I get lots of chances to keep my world full of fascinating Missoulians doing cool things. From writing about local entrepreneurs for Missoula Valley Lifestyle to coordinating events for Fat Girls Hiking's Montana chapter to teaching cycle at The Women's Club.

First Impression of VIM & VIGR Compression Socks:

Wow! They fit! I had given up on wearing cute, fashionable knee-highs because I have large calves. Now, I have three pairs to choose from. :)

What does everyday wellness look like to you?

Movement! My motto: "Just move."

Reflections on Being a Sock Model:

It just feels so affirming to model socks in my size! VIM & VIGR is part of a thriving community of women-owned businesses headquartered in Missoula. As a Missoula native, I love representing and supporting their vision.

Jessa, VIM & VIGR Sock Model

Jessa

Hometown: Cleveland, OH

I love to run, ski, hike with my dogs and garden– the typical things that (many) Missoulians do to stay busy and active. My partner runs a kayak shop and non-profit youth kayak program in town which takes up most of our time in the spring and summer months. I try to be as active as I can.

First Impression of VIM & VIGR Compression Socks:

I loooove the VIM & VIGR socks! I held off for a long time on compression socks, not really knowing if the hype would be real. I often saw them at running stores or people wearing them after a race, but I wasn't sure if they would work for me. I started training for the Rut (a mountain race in Big Sky, MT) around the same time I started modeling for VIM & VIGR, and they were a lifesaver. I especially love the sleeves! I wear them to bed a lot, they help so much after I've been on my feet all day.

What does everyday wellness look like to you?

Everyday wellness for me is being outside or exercising for at least 30 minutes a day. I find that once I start moving the stressors of everyday start to silence, and I can relax and enjoy this beautiful place we live.

* It's important to note that Jessa is mom to two of our very favorite models, Dirt & Lox:

Reflections on Being a Sock Model:

I sort of fell into this while helping on a VIM & VIGR shoot a few years ago. The last sock model was leaving town, and I was helping Athena Lonsdale (our amazing photographer!) on the shoot and became a permanent stand in. The VIM & VIGR shoots are the ones I always look forward to working on. There is such fun and creative energy that comes from everyone, and it feels like a team effort. I love that ideas and suggestions are heard, and we can all work together to get the right shot or the right look for a specific piece. I am so happy to be a part of this group and always look forward to the time I get to spend with the VIM & VIGR crew!

Mati VIM & VIGR Sock Model

Mati

Hometown: Grew up in Bozeman, MT. Lived in Missoula, MT for almost seven years.

Writing and connecting with people are two things that bring me so much joy. I'm currently launching my own business, Catch Creative Content. I love being a part of the Missoula community - my posts on This Town Has Soul will give you a feel for the people, places, and things that make this town so special. I serve on the board of Turning The Wheel Missoula, a nonprofit close to my heart that teaches arts-based programs that foster social, emotional and physical wellness. When I'm not working, you can find me on the slopes, having friends over for dinner, at a concert, or floating on the Clark Fork.

"These are cuuuuute!" Also, they fit my wider calves comfortably.

What does everyday wellness look like to you?

I wake up early so that I have time for a short meditation and a few stretches. I try to move my body every day - yoga, walking my pup, dancing, cycling and barre are a few of my favorite ways to do so.

Reflections on Being a Sock Model:

The photo/video shoots are always well thought out, and the crew makes me feel so welcome. It's been a treat to model for VIM & VIGR for the past several seasons - and I always love getting a sneak peek at the new designs!

Teresa

Hometown: Roseville, CA

I work at ClassPass, so fitness and wellness are pretty big interests of mine! I love to run, snow board and hike. I’m pretty involved in Zootown Church and love to help with the kiddos there! I was the marketing intern at VIM & VIGR in the fall and loved every second of it.

Thank Jesus my calves finally feel better!

What does everyday wellness look like to you?

I like to get a massage when my body feels tired. I am marathon training, and I have to remind myself that it’s okay to rest. Sometimes, I get my nails done because it’s I feel confident when I have fresh nails. :)

Reflections on Being a Sock Model:

Catch me in catalogs to come! Love this company!
